Banking offers number of jobs in public as well as private sector banks. Other than normal banking activities banks employ manpower in other activities like the credit cards, mutual funds, loans activities, trading in gold and forex activities.

Banks perform various functions accounts maintenance, transfer of money, exchange of foreign currency, insurance policies, loans, credits, corporate banking, merchant banking, investment banking operations, etc.

Public Sector Banks organise All India Level examination  and recruit large numbers for Probationary Officers and Clerical staff. These banks pay good salary packages to their employees.

Private Sector Banks normally appoint through Campus recruitments and direct interviews.

Banking sector hires MBAs with specialisation in finance, banking, marketing and human resource, CAs, computer engineers, etc.

Banking sector requires good communication skills as well as knowledge of computers. Various banking courses are being offered by several universities including MBA (Banking) and Bachelor Degree in Banking Management(BBM).
