Nowadays Library is not just limited to storage, organisation and maintenance of books, periodicals, papers and journals but with introduction of computers and Information technology, Library has become a big pool of knowledge and information. Information storage and retrieval processes have been computerised, now information is also available in electronic formats like CD ROM, virtual libraries.
Librarians systematically organise and maintain books, periodicals and other information by classification, indexing, cataloguing, shelving and provide them to users on demand.
