Medical Representative
Medical Representatives are appointed by pharmaceutical company for sales and promotion of their drugs and other products. They are like Marketing Executives for these companies whose responsibility is to boost up sales figures.A Medical Representative contacts with hospitals, nursing homes, doctors, druggists and chemist, introduces products of his company, tells what are the benefits of the products, offers free sample and insists them to buy and refer their medicines and products. He has to maintain continuous good relations with the clients.
Some of the big names in pharmaceutical sector include Ranbaxy, Dr. Reddy, Wockhardt Limited, Nicholas Piramal, Aventis, Glaxo Smithkline, Novartis, Dr. Morepen and Pfizer.
Eligibility:
Many pharmaceutical companies prefer Candidates having B. Pharma or B.Sc. (with Biology) bachelor degree. However, there is a huge demand for simple Graduates (any stream) having strong marketing skills.
Scope/ Growth Structure:
A medical representative have a very promising career in pharmaceutical marketing with attractive salary packages and nice promotion opportunities. With hard work and good performance, he can move to higher posts including:-
- Area/ Territory Manager
- Regional/Zonal Manager.
