Modelling is a fascinating career which attracts many youngsters as a part time profession as well as a full time career option. Many models who started their career in modelling got exciting offers from Indian film industry and modeling proved as a strong platform for them to enter film industry.

For both boys and girls it is an attractive career option. But it is not good for everyone and doesn’t suit for all of them. To be a successful model there are some basic requirements:
- Models should have good height. For female model minimum preferred height is five feet six inches and for male models six feet, especially for ramp modeling.
- Models should have photogenic face, perfect body, good health. They have to always maintain it by proper diet and exercise.
- Models should be very confident and energetic.

Short Career Length:
Biggest problem with this career is that it has a very short career length, 10 years or even less because in this line mostly fresh and young faces are in demand. After that they have to find options in other lines. Many models join television and become actors or TV anchors. Some start their own modelling agencies or event management companies. Every model has to re-plan his/her career after some years.

Career Opportunities:
A model can find work assignments in advertising agencies, share ramp in fashion shows for fashion houses, fashion designers, showrooms, export houses and garment manufacturers. A model can work on contract basis or independently as a freelancer.
