Technical Writers
Technical writer creates and maintains technical documentation – user manuals, design specification, white papers, online help documents, project reports and other technical documents. He communicates an idea to a particular user in simple language.
Technical writers should possess both technical and language skills. Some technical writers are graduates or post graduates with mass communication, Journalism or English Literature degree having good writing skills and acquire technical knowledge as per requirements but many technical writers switch from another technical field such as engineering, medical or information technology and take classes in technical communications later on.
A technical writer has job opportunities in advertising agencies, IT companies, Newspapers and magazines etc.
There are other titles used for Technical Writer including Communications Specialist, Proposal Writer, Publications Specialist, Documentation Specialist, Information Developer, Technical Editor, Web Editor, and Information Designer.
